About Me:
Mrs. Adetutu Akinnifesi, born and raised in Nigeria, is a multifaceted individual whose journey embodies a fusion of academic excellence, entrepreneurial spirit, and a profound commitment to humanitarian causes. Adetutu’s passion for service was marked by a deep appreciation for her cultural heritage and a thirst for knowledge.
Adetutu attended primary and secondary school education in Nigeria, thus, laying the foundation for her illustrious academic career. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Agricultural Extension Services from the University of Ibadan, where she developed a keen interest in agricultural development and fostering community empowerment through partnerships. Building upon this foundation, and furthering her education on a global stage, Adetutu obtained a Master’s degree in Economics from the University of Malawi, thus, expanding her understanding in household budgeting, labour use and socioeconomic dynamics amoung household members.
Driven by a relentless pursuit of knowledge and a passion for creating positive change, Adetutu pursued another Master’s degree, this time in Human Development and Food Security from Università Degli Studi Roma Tre in Italy. This interdisciplinary approach reflects her commitment to addressing complex issues relating to human capacity development, well-being and food security.
As an entrepreneur, Adetutu has leveraged her diverse skill set and knowledge to establish successful ventures aimed at fostering economic empowerment especially for a ‘girl child’ and women towards sustainable development. Adetutu through her entrepreneurial endeavors, demonstrates innovative thinking and visionary leadership.
In addition to her entrepreneurial pursuits, Adetutu has actively engaged with various humanitarian organizations in Nigeria, Ghana, and in Italy. These collaborations have played a pivotal role in implementing impactful initiatives aimed at alleviating poverty, promoting food security, and empowering marginalized groups.
Adetutu’s work exemplifies a rare blend of academic rigor, practical wisdom, and commitment to social justice. Her journey serves as an inspiration to aspiring entrepreneurs, scholars, and changemakers alike. Adetutu has published articles and educational outputs on topics relating to rural labour markets, Gender and Labour use in the Rural settings in Malawi, Domestication and Commercialization of Indeginous fruits in Brazil, Inclussiveness of vulnerable groups in the Ghana fishing industry, Effectiveness of mobile phone as means of communication among fish farmers in Lagos. When free, she enjoys traveling, reading and exploring new culinary experiences.
